Last week Washington National Cathedral unveiled their new stained glass windows, replacing Confederate imagery with depictions that “capture the resilience, faith and endurance of African Americans and our nation’s struggle with the original sins of racism and slavery.”
EDS Interim President the Rev. Dr. Kelly Brown Douglas, Canon Theologian at the Washington National Cathedral, helped to lead the initiative. “You can look at these windows over and over again and see something different and something new,” she shared in the Cathedrals’ newly-released documentary. “These windows depict this story of freedom on the move.”
