Episcopal Divinity School is honored to share that our Director of Theological Education, the Rev. Dr. Brandon Crowley, had his portrait inducted into the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel Hall of Honor at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA.
This induction into a permanent installation honoring major preachers and theologians is a profound recognition of Dr. Crowley’s contribution to the moral and intellectual life of the Black church and the broader public. Dr. Crowley’s induction is more than a personal milestone; it also signifies the vital importance of Black Queer representation within the lineage of Black Christian leadership.
Dr. Crowley’s work lives at the intersection of pastoral ministry, academic scholarship, and public theology— he embodies the very prophetic leadership that EDS seeks to cultivate in everyone who choses to persue EDS’ theological education offerings. We are proud to see Dr. Crowley’s leadership recognized in such a hallowed space, and we remain dedicated to the work of forming leaders who, like those honored in the King Chapel, are equipped to organize for justice and embrace the perspectives of those at the margins.
