Last week in Limuru, Kenya, the inaugural Episcopal Divinity School (EDS) Fellows – a group of Anglican women from the Global South – gathered to deepen connections and share research. This one-year fellowship specifically nurtures emerging female Anglican leaders, and the meeting was organized in partnership with St. Paul’s University.
Nine EDS fellows from Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the Caribbean, and Latin America attended. Since last June, they have met online each month to discuss challenges as female leaders and issues in their communities. Dr. Jenny Te Paa-Daniel (Te Rarawa), former Maori leader of St. John’s College in Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand, Dr. Esther Mombo, interim Vice-Chancellor of St. Paul’s University, and I serve as their mentors.
