+ Wade in the Water

Episcopal Divinity school is offering a new DVD and study guide to small congregations interested in learning about collaborative leadership. Wade in the Water explores ways that the ministry of the baptized can create healthy small churches. This resource can empower lay members to find a more active role within the church, including positions of leadership.

Featuring EDS faculty member, Dr. Fredrica Harris Thompsett, Wade in the Water is a presentation organized in six distinct chapters, most of them 10-15 minutes in length; the first chapter is 30 minutes. It is designed to be used with small groups in a short series, or as a one-day workshop.

Presentation chapters include:
    A short history of baptism

    Thinking about who God is

Thinking about who we are in relation to God

    Differing perspectives on the church

Case Study: Change in a small church

Focusing on your work in the world

The study guide includes handout material seen in the presentation and offers discussion questions for each chapter. It is formatted as a booklet, and is also included on the DVD as a .pdf file.

The cost of the DVD and study guide is $100. To purchase this package, please contact Chris Carr at ccarr@eds.edu, or call 617.682.1529 to order by credit card.
