The Rev. Francis Fornaro, Interim President and Dean
The Rev. Francis Fornaro brings nearly two decades of experience as an ordained leader in the church, including serving as adjunct faculty member at EDS and as a former member of the CREDO Faculty where he provided spiritual guidance and support for clergy from diverse parishes across the country. Ordained in 1996, Fornaro has served as associate priest and interim rector at St. Mary’s Church in Dorchester, associate priest and interim rector at St. John’s Church in Salem, and in 2006, was appointed to the position of dean of the Alewife Deanery, offering support and care to the clergy serving the seventeen congregations in the area. He served as a Fresh Start facilitator from 2001 until 2005 and co-led the newly called Rectors Group. He served as director of education and formation for the Diocese of Massachusetts from 1996 until 1999, when he was called to be rector at St. Paul’s Church in Bedford, Massachusetts.
Fornaro serves as mentor to several newly ordained and veteran clergy in the diocese and province. He also serves on the Pastoral Response Team of the diocese and leads vestry retreats. Prior to his ordination, he served as teacher and administrator in the Boston Public Schools from 1964 until 1993. He has a BS in Education, an MEd in Administration and Organization, and earned an MDiv with concentration in Pastoral Theology from Episcopal Divinity School in 1996.
