EDS offers three degrees—Master of Divinity (MDiv), Master of Arts in Theological Studies (MATS), and Doctor of Ministry (DMin)—as well as a variety of certificate programs in theological studies. Underlying all of these programs is the conviction that ministry requires the ability to establish goals, identify and utilize resources, consult and collaborate with others, and evaluate results. The curriculum at EDS encourages students to develop discipline in study, personal life, and professional practice that promotes these skills. EDS welcomes students from various denominations and faith traditions.
- Master of Divinity (MDiv) prepares students for ordained ministry and for general pastoral and religious leadership responsibilities in congregations and other settings.
- Master of Arts in Theological Studies (MATS) provides a basic understanding of theological disciplines for further graduate study or for general educational purposes.
- Doctor of Ministry (DMin) is an advanced degree to enhance the practice of ministry for persons who hold the MDiv or its equivalent degree and have engaged in ministerial leadership.
